"I was amazed at all the movements and postures my two little girls were demonstrating to me after their Kids Core demo. As a biokineticist, we usually battle to get children to focus on balancing but the animal and other fun named postures engage them on their level". Its quite simply excellent!!"

 What is Kids Core?

Kids Core is a unique concept that focuses on improving children’s and parents physical and mental development. Hundreds of carefully designed postures and movements encourage the growth of new muscle and neural patterns.

  • Kids Core for pre-schoolers is unique in that it requires no equipment, and can be done seated, standing and on the floor.

  • Kids Core has a specific module designed for the classroom situation to raise energy levels, creativity and mental awareness. It can also be used to subdue an overactive classroom within minutes and still stimulate the brain.

  • Kids Core for foundation phase assists teachers by providing easy to follow lesson plans, ensuring continuity within a physical education programme.

  • A system that targets pre and foundation level learners, parents and their teachers as this is a key stage for kids to develop lifelong neural cognitive patterns.

  • Creates a strong foundation of physical skills that include core strength, balance and flexibility.

  • Taught to parents, teachers and children over a series of workshops. The introductory workshop covers the framework of childhood development.

  • The level one workshop covers the most basic postures. Each workshop after that is designed to be more difficult. There is currently no ceiling for how powerful we can make a child.

  • Kids Core is unique in that all children are involved 100% of the time, enhancing learning time.

  • Classes include and encourage parents and children to attend together to enhance bonding in the family unit, and the community.

  • Higher levels of training, known as “Hard Core”, will greatly benefit the older children who are serious about becoming professional athletes.

  • Currently designing easy-to-use flash cards, books, DVDs and training manuals. Enables broader communication skills which can be used across other languages.

  • A capability is being developed to replicate the techniques for improving teaching and learning in other languages.

Who is Kids Core designed for?

The simple answer is that everybody can benefit from applying the principles of Kids Core. From the time we start to slow down, move less, stop studying and basically stop being adventurous, our brains and bodies start a downward spiral to an old age that is fraught with arthritis, aches and pains, limited mobility, not to mention the obvious decline in mentality. In a nutshell Kids Core is for everyone.

Its biggest benefit though is to all children. For children who are weak physically it helps to build core strength, and global muscle strength too. For the over active child, it has a calming effect, and for children who are struggling developmentally, it can help fill in the missing pieces of their growth puzzle.

Charity and Fundraising Work

Kids Core uses the proceeds from our roadshow to work with dis - advantaged schools and children. Take a look at some of the pictures from a day that we recently did at Kwamama in Ballito. We also support the Duffield Academy, an iniative aimed at improving learning at underpriviledged schools. We charge a base price to the learners of your school. If you as a school feel you would like to contribute more, or would like to do some fundraising of your own, you are welcome to charge more, as long as it creates more.

"A child will never reach their full potential if they do not have a well   developed core .  Add to that  they need  to develop their vestibular and proprioceptive systems completely to have a solid base, not just physically, but also mentally and emotionally"
